Northern Ireland EPCs for existing property sales

The introduction of EPCs for the sale of existing dwellings in Northern Ireland is on 1 July 2008. The Northern Ireland Government (Department of Finance and Personnel-Northern Ireland) has decided to adopt the same qualification and accreditation regime applicable in England and Wales, so all accredited Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) can work in Northern Ireland, without the need for additional training or qualification.

However it is important that DEAs understand the different RdSAP software assumptions and data entry requirements for Northern Ireland relate to the different Building Regulations that have been applicable in Northern Ireland over the years.  In order to assist DEAs understand these differences Elmhurst has produced a guidance note that explains the key differences and a new survey form specially for use in Northern Ireland.
