U-Value Calculator Software
The new Elmhurst U-Value Calculator has been produced in accordance with current British Standards. The calculator is easy to use and includes a comprehensive list of manufacturers latest products.
The process of building up constructions for calculations is made easy with all the products in a manufactures database ready to be quickly inserted. (see below)
The software can be used as a stand alone piece of software, allowing users to calculate different wall, roof and floor u-values.

The software can be linked to a SAP calculation, so when entering information on a particular property; the U-Value Calculator may be accessed directly to obtain u-values for the properties walls, roofs or floors. The advantage of this method is that the u-value calculations are always stored within the SAP calculation, and can be printed out with all other compliance reports. Also, importantly any construction can be easily and quickly amended at any time, meaning the u-value is suitably recalculated; but its effect on the whole SAP rating is also automatically identified.
The Elmhurst U-Value Calculator also has some invaluable features. The software will calculate 'Condensation Risk Analysis' upon any construction entered. One click of a button and 'dew point' and 'vapour pressure' tables/graphs are presented, clearly indicating whether there is any theoretical chance of condensation forming in the calculated construction.
Another useful feature is the 'Template' function; within the calculator there is at least one typical template for each of the standard construction techniques. This allows the user to easily amend templates to create their own exact constructions; user defined templates can then be saved into the database making jobs easier in the future. In the same way user defined materials can also be added to the comprehensive manufacturers database.
